Dr Kirstie Ruppert
Scientist in Community Engagement at the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance
I am a social scientist working to integrate human dimensions information into wildlife conservation planning and management. As an Associate Director of Conservation Science at San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, I oversee and support social research and evaluation projects to strengthen the connection between community goals and wildlife conservation efforts around the world. A key focus of this work is planning for human-wildlife coexistence, through community engagement processes, strategy development, monitoring and evaluation, and adaptive management. My contributions to species reintroductions and translocations are primarily situated in Laikipia, Kenya and California, USA.
